What's your business, and who are your customers?
Lunalis is a philanthropic, women-powered business offering clean and luxury skincare that aims to keep skincare routines simple and transformative by using botanical, vegan, and cruelty-free miracle products sourced in a sustainable manner.
Tell us about yourself
The idea of Lunalis was born from the discovery of prickly pear seed oil and its role in skin rejuvenation. After the loss of our mother to cancer, my sister and I traveled to our birthplace in rural Morocco to reconnect with our roots. There, we met with women farmers who harvested prickly pears from the prickly pear cactus. We were amazed at how this plant could thrive so beautifully in even the driest conditions. This fruit produces replenishing oils containing antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamins A, E, and K. The women's story of beauty arising from adversity and nature resonated with us. At that moment, My sister and I knew our calling was to share Morocco's natural, skin-benefiting treasures with the world. As a result, we founded Lunalis Cosmetics.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Our biggest reward has been successfully introducing a new category of "nature-based luxe" into the skincare marketplace. Our products are as luxurious to the touch as they are healthy to the skin. Elegant packaging and featherlight texture imbue every woman's beauty ritual with a feeling of elevated indulgence, as well as the promise of purity. Lunalis skin care is free of parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances, artificial colors, and dyes.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things you'll have to face as a business owner is dealing with the unknown. Every day there will be new challenges and obstacles to deal with.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
When you start your own business, there are a number of entrepreneurial challenges that are likely to be faced. Expect to face challenges from numerous many sources that include both internal and external challenges. Patience, persistence, and perseverance are essential for achieving your goals. So don't give up. Most successes are not overnight successes. "Follow your heart, and success will follow."
