What's your business, and who are your customers?
My business offers a line of one-step gel polish that can be used by customers of all ages and genders. One Step Gel Polish is a quick and simple solution for the everyday consumer to achieve beautiful manicures and pedicures. Our formula, heavy on pigment, is designed to provide luscious rich color for up to 14 days, providing a salon-quality product in the comfort of your own home. It is easy to apply and takes under 15 mins. All you need to do is prep your nails, cleanse, apply polish and cure under a LED lamp for a minute. That's it!
Tell us about yourself
As the licensed cosmetologist owner and founder of LUCID Polish, I have been in the beauty industry since 1994 and a salon owner since 2011. I currently have seven operating locations throughout South Dakota, and my salons have won local awards as well as state awards several times throughout the years. I am passionate about creating opportunities and providing education in the field, not only in my salons but also for consumers at home.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Opening, designing, and creating seven amazing nail bars (A Perfect 10 Nail & Beauty Bar) throughout South Dakota and developing my own product to use in all of them.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
By far, managing people is the biggest challenge. Everyone has to be managed differently by their personality to get positive results.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Don't let fear scare you from building your dream. Do it, plan, prepare, execute.
