What's your business, and who are your customers?
Love, Light, & Candles is a full-service candle company whose mission is to provide products that uplift and empower the soul. Our customers range from individuals practicing acts of self-love and well-being or simply enjoying a great-smelling candle.
Tell us about yourself
I started my business back in 2018 after realizing that the candle market didn’t have all of the things I wanted in a candle (Scent, intentions, and Adorned). Basically… I wanted a candle that not only smelled amazing but felt and looked amazing as well. With that realization, I decided to start making them for myself (I had no intentions of starting a business). It wasn’t until people started to ask where I got my candles. From there, I saw an opportunity to build a legacy for my daughters while spreading love and light, and thus, Love, Light, and Candles were born. Candle-making is more than just making a candle for me; it’s a form of art. In addition to candles, Kingdom and Community building is very important to me; my candle company is a small piece of a bigger movement. As the saying goes…Each one needs one, and each one teaches one.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Sheesh. That’s a good question, lol. Um, I would say starting this company. I now have something an avenue for Generational wealth.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Definitely marketing and making sure you are appeasing your consumers.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Believe in yourself.
- Be patient.
- Trust the process.
