What's your business, and who are your customers?
We are a henna design company named "Love is Mehndi," and just like the name, our customers are people who love mehndi, also called henna. We strive to fill the customer's hearts with happiness when they are done with a henna session by Love is Mehndi. Our customers are always kind and loving people, and we enjoy every appointment with them!
Tell us about yourself
I have been practicing the art of henna for 14 years and am still in love with every bit of it! I first discovered the art of henna when my best friend growing up, Kimi Singh, introduced me to it one day, we were supposed to go to a cultural event at college together to get henna done, but the henna artists had already left. So I decided to go to the nearest Indian store and purchase a henna cone, and from then, it became a passionate obsession.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is building a brand and scaling it to reach the hearts and hands of many; it is amazing and brings my heart true happiness to see all the smiling faces after a client's henna appointment.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that come with being a business owner is if I satisfy the expectations of the customer. Oh, and taxes, lol!
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
The top three tips for anyone who wants to start, run, and grow a business are:
- Truly love what you do because if you do, then the sky is the limit.
- Go to YouTube and learn what you can about running a business, so you get a head start before you actually launch.
- Be fearless and know that the universe is on your side if you believe in yourself.
