We pride ourselves on creating finely detailed and delectable products that serve as the perfect complement to your special occasion. Our customers, the people of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, may be celebrating a special event or just satisfying a sweet tooth.
Tell us about yourself
Cake decorating began as a hobby for me when the kids went off to college. Now it's my passion to share this skill with others, not only by creating custom cakes and desserts for their celebrations but also by teaching our youth the science and art of making their own cakes.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been developing relationships with my customers while consistently providing exceptional products.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
The hardest thing about being a business owner is balancing your work vs. your private life. With everything from the business (planning, preparation, client communication, marketing, making the product, follow-up, accounting, etc.) falling on you, it is important to make time to recharge and enjoy family and friends.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Dream big! Don't place limits on your creativity.
- Ask for help. You can't possibly know everything you need to know in order to operate your business.
- Know that "what is for you is for you." However, there is no magic potion; this takes hard work. Don't give up!
