Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in advertising services but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Louis Dupuy, Founder of RumbleBrand Marketing and Design, located in Las Vegas, NV, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

RumbleBrand Marketing and Design is a graphic design and marketing company based in Las Vegas. My clients are new and existing business owners who want to build, launch and market a new brand or overhaul an existing brand. I also work with clients that want to brand, design, and market events.

Tell us about yourself

I have been a creative person since I was a child, so design and creativity have been a part of who I am practically all of my life. After a long career working for other design and marketing companies, I relocated to Las Vegas and launched RumbleBrand. What motivates me the most is being able to create things that not only excite my clients but infuse instant credibility into their brands. The enthusiasm and confidence they express when their new branding and marketing pieces hit the public is the fuel that drives me.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have high-profile clients who get lots of attention on the things I create, and that's cool... But, I think collectively, the freedom to work with who I choose and the ability to work my own schedule on my own terms is huge for me. There's a sense of freedom in that.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

You have to have a sense of discipline and not chase after the shiny things that may seem cool but are not sustainable. Those things can distract you from doing things that have the most positive impact on your business. Be very intentional when it comes to what you choose to work on. What projects will continually make you money for the long haul? This is a lesson I had to learn.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Before you pull the trigger, do a deep dive into your business idea. Is your product or service something people need/want or an improvement of something they need/want?
  2. Learn everything about yourself as a company, and know everything about your target audience. When you do that, you will avoid wasting money on marketing to people who have no need or interest in what you offer.
  3. If you do a great job, or if you do a terrible job, your customer will talk. You will live and die by your reputation as a company. Give nothing less than the best to your client, and if by chance something goes sideways, always, ALWAYS make it right. You will look like a hero in both cases.
