All Strong Fitness - Logan Anderson

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Logan Anderson, Owner of All Strong Fitness LLC, located in Bettendorf, IA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

All Strong Fitness is an inclusive fitness and health company I started to help underserved populations through fitness and health. I work with seniors, individuals with disabilities, Special Olympics athletes, and many more in teaching about fitness, educating about health, and empowering them to be the best individuals that they can be, regardless of how they look, think, and move.

Tell us about yourself

I worked as a caregiver throughout college for numerous years. I realized the lack of health education and opportunity to improve health among this population. During this same time, I also worked at a senior living community and really enjoyed helping this underserved population. I decided to start my own company at that point to help all underserved populations. I describe it as "social work through fitness and health."

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I don't have a specific accomplishment other than just starting it at the beginning. I was so overwhelmed and didn't even know what to do, so looking at all of the connections and progress I've made compared to where I started is probably the biggest accomplishment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Second-guessing yourself every single day is probably the hardest thing I deal with. Since it isn't a common path taken, you often find yourself comparing yourself to others and wondering if you are wasting your time trying to create something great.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Understand that the "glamour" of owning the business is only 5% of what actually happens. Most of the work done is repetitive, tedious, and ultimately why I think most people fail when trying to start.
  2. Embrace when it sucks. One of the things I always do when I feel tired, run-down, and like giving up is to remind myself that not many people do this. And this is exactly why not many people achieve great things in their life.
  3. The power of creating connections is so important. Reach out to as many people in your niche when first starting and ask to help with ANYTHING. Even if one bites, you don't know what that will lead to.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

If anyone is reading this and interested in starting something either on the side or full-time, please do it. It is very overwhelming at first, but the personal satisfaction and development you can get from it is second to none.
