Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food delivery, but not sure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sean Finlayson, the founder of Fruite Suite,  a local fresh fruit and snacks delivery to offices in Canada.

Tell us all about your business...

We deliver local fresh fruit and snacks to offices all over the GTA. Our goal is to support the local food community and provide healthy, delicious options for people in the workplace

What's your background and motivation to grow as a business owner?

I love produce and farmers and I always hated the junk food that was ever-present in the office. I found a way to combine these two things - I want to take chocolate bars and junk food out of offices and replace them with healthier options. I believe it will make people happier, healthier and more productive.

As an entrepreneur, what does success ultimately mean to you?

Navigating through COVID and coming out alive on the other end. We lost 100% of our business when COVID began and had to pivot and get very creative over the last year and half. Nothing can stop us now. :)

What's one of the hardest things that come with being an entrepreneur?

Finding the right people. 100%.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run or grow a small business today?

Run the numbers.
Make sure you can operate as a viable business.
Don't give up equity in your business unless you absolutely have to.
Bootstrap and find cost effective solutions whenever possible.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I'd take one of hour of menial, mind numbing work on my own business over 1 year of the most exciting work for someone else any day.
