Scale Business Consulting - Liz Ranney

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Liz Ranney, VP of Business Development of Scale Business Consulting, located in Austin, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Scale Collective - a Community of coaches, consultants, mentors, and entrepreneurs. Our members are tired of feeling like a best-kept secret. Incredible at their services but yet still worried about where the next client is coming from and how overheard will get covered.

  • Blanket solutions that don't work.
  • DIY and band-aid fixes.
  • Lack of access to actual support from experts and insight from the community.
  • Working solo and feeling alone.
  • Not having the cash for a "high ticket" program.
  • They were burned by a guru that promised the moon and delivered little or nothing.
  • Massive desire to grow and innovate.
  • Delegate and build a solid team in a way that doesn't break the bank.

Tell us about yourself

I've been an entrepreneur for the past decade and have helped build businesses and brands for 20 years. In developing the Scale Collective, we talked to and served hundreds of coaches worldwide in the past two years, and we developed our community directly based on the wants and needs shared. Being an entrepreneur isn't an easy path. It's so much more joyful when you have people to lean on, celebrate with, and access experts that won't involve a second mortgage to pay for.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Helping support entrepreneurs to reach milestones. Signing a first client, figuring out pricing, reaching consistent 5k months, 6 + 7 figure years, and creating impact and positivity in the world.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Consistency and patience. Always keeping a finger on the pulse of what's happening in the world. Knowing when to pivot and when to wait it out. Make your own path, and show up authentically and confidently.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Have a strong why and revisit it often. Be unapologetically yourself. Be graceful and authentic.
