What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is called Livin Lovelii, and it is dedicated to increasing the confidence and positive mindset of Black female entrepreneurs. Lovelii Life school lessons in personal development and teaching marketing techniques are included in the program.

Tell us about yourself

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. As a small child, I always wanted to "save the world." I knew at an early age that many people were unhappy, and I wanted to help spread love and joy to others. Growing up wasn't very easy for me. My parents were not very present; I experienced a big loss of my grandfather at an early age. I was extremely shy and experienced bouts of depression and anxiety, abuse, and a lot of factors that held me back. Through all of my adversity, I never lost the part of me that wanted to help and serve others more than anything; my adversity led me to want to help even more. I don't want women to go through what I've gone through, and I want to help those that already have gone through a lot to heal. I'm motivated to do this every day because it brings so much joy to me to make others happy. I enjoy accomplishing people's desires, and it feels great to know I am a part of that. If I can change one person for the better, I am ultimately helping the world to become a better place for us all. I'm also inspired to be an example to my beautiful daughter.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is successfully launching and gaining exposure so I can join publications like this one! I'm also grateful that I have clients who trust me enough to exchange their hard-earned money so they can grow alongside me.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Owning a business will show you what you are made of. It will have you doubting your abilities and worthiness. It's difficult when you believe in the business but experience slow periods. You begin to believe you are not contributing enough value.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Make sure you know who you are. Who you are will directly affect your business' messaging and how it performs.
  2. Get a coach or mentor! I believe that many successful owners will agree that having someone to guide, teach, and inspire you is a key component to that success.
  3. Use your mistakes as a learning tool. You will make many mistakes as an owner, but do not use that as an excuse to stop. Mistakes lead to growth. Never give up.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I'm so grateful for the opportunity to be spotlighted in this amazing publication. I'm honored for the consideration.
