Using Setbacks to Your Advantage - Live Boldly Coaching

Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Sara Schulting Kranz, Founder of Live Boldly Coaching, LLC., located in Hermosa Beach, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a keynote speaker on resilience and leadership, TEDx speaker, author, coach, and podcaster, and I run life-changing healing retreats for men and women in the Grand Canyon and Alaska. My customers are those ready for personal development, healing, finding strength and resilience they never imagined possible, and inviting a happier, healthier, more free, and choice-driven life.

Tell us about yourself

I am a multiple trauma survivor who has not only survived but thrived from her traumas. Having suffered from complex-PTSD, I know what it is to feel like you're alone on an island. It is awful. I didn't want others to feel this way, so I took everything that I learned through my own trauma recovery and started a business helping others. Today, I guide men and women on life-changing and healing retreats in the Grand Canyon and Alaska. We do everything from coaching to adventure, energy work, and natural healing. I love what I do, and soon I am taking my message to the stage, speaking about learning, living, and leading from your setbacks and traumas.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I'm very proud of all of our accomplishments! From filming a documentary in the Grand Canyon to publishing my book and standing on a TEDx stage. I am proud to be here doing this work on this platform. What I am most proud of is watching my clients transform and become so, so happy as a result.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

When you are the sole person in charge of everything, when the business is that much a part of you, it's hard to set it down. I love what I do. And the hardest thing has been balancing what I do with being a single mom. No doubt, it takes a lot to manage. And it's worth it.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Get out of your own way and trust your ideas and creativity.
  2. Don't do it all. Find people who can support your goals. Hand off the things you don't like or don't know to others.
  3. Market from your heart. If you love what you are doing, others will be drawn to that.
