Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in food and beverage but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Indika Koggalahewa, Owner of Little Things Coffee Shop & Micro-Roastery, located in Auckland, New Zealand.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a Coffee Shop and Micro-Roastery serving hot and cold caffeinated beverages. Our customers love a bit of banter, a good brew, and a snack.

Tell us about yourself

Been making a coffee now for 6years and air-roasting coffee in-house for four years. I enjoyed coffee, and my passion grew each day, seeing how customers appreciated what we had to offer. My team and customers motivate me to always do better and strive for excellence.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Is being able to set up an in-house Micro-Roastery inside a shopping centre.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Wearing many hats every day is a new challenge, and constantly juggling between things takes energy.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

Keep caffeinated, keep focused, and keep that passion by sharing your story with others. Speaking out loud about why you were in business helps to solidify your passion and push through the tough days.
