Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Andrea Mathis, Founder of Little Eats & Things, located in Pinson, AL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Little Eats & Things is a healthy food blog for kids, parents, teachers, etc. We like to make food fun while teaching simple key factors such as proper portions, understanding hunger, and satiety cues, and not labeling food as good or bad! I've made it my mission to provide you with tasty, wholesome recipes, the latest nutritional information, and tons of FUN - all in one place!

Tell us about yourself

My name is Andrea, but my friends call me Andy, and I am the creator of Little Eats & Things. I'm a Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist, wife, and mommy to two of the sweetest yet busiest - little boys! As a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, I like to encourage parents to allow their kids to enjoy the foods they love while also introducing them to new foods that may have a higher nutritional value! I struggled with getting my kids to try various foods, but I finally figured out a few helpful tips that have really helped my family. I decided to share those tips, along with a variety of crafts, recipes, and fun printable, on my website Little Eats & Things!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being able to make a difference in other people's lives. No matter how big or small the impact, I'm grateful that I can help and possibly inspire others!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that come along with being a business owner is being able to set work boundaries. I love my job so much that I often work several long hours each, making it hard to fit anything else into my schedule. Nowadays, I've learned to create office hours and stick to them!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Start now because it's no such thing as the "perfect time."
  2. Be patient with yourself.
  3. And enjoy the journey.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me and Little Eats & Things!
