Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lisa Kalmin, a Transformational Coach and Trainer, based in Costa Mesa, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a badass transformational trainer and mindset wizard. I empower people to break free of their limiting subconscious beliefs. My customers are anyone who wants to be exceptional!

Tell us about yourself

I got started in this business when I had my own wake-up call... my parents were divorcing after 27 years of marriage, and I knew in my heart I was not living my calling and purpose. I am motivated by each person experiencing their own magnificence and generating the life they love!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I have run a successful 7 figure transformational training company, own another company with my business partner, and have trained or coached over 30,000 people worldwide.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Empowering a team that is not only motivated by the vision and mission but also supporting them in growing and developing. At some point, they may outgrow their position and leave, knowing I served them well.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be clear on your "why." Know in your heart the reason you are committed to starting, running, and growing your business. It's 100% dedication and more, so being clear on the why is essential.
  2. Make sure your vision is about serving your clients and customers; if it's all about you, you will fail. Hands down.
  3. Be enthusiastic and engaging no matter how hard things are. No one wants to work with or buy from a complainer.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Owning your own business is a full-time commitment and relationship. Be ready to dedicate yourself fully. This doesn't mean you can't have a beautiful family. You just get to know that it means being all in.
