What's your business, and who are your customers?
BlendWorks Digital Marketing is a digital marketing business specializing in Search Engine Optimization (SEO). SEO is the process of increasing website traffic by improving the ranking of your website on browsers such as Google. We also offer Website Design, Social Media, Review Marketing, and much more. My clients range from lawyers, insurance agencies, wellness centers, realtors, and restaurants! Anyone who wants to grow their business has something to benefit from BlendWorks Digital!
Tell us about yourself
My name is Lisa Bengtson, and I am the founder of BlendWorks Digital! I am originally from small-town Kansas and attended Kansas State University (Go Wildcats!). There I graduated with a Bachelor of Science and now live in Arvada, Colorado, with my husband Brett and three little boys! My business started out of the need for small business owners to build an online presence. My first client was my husband's business, Bengtson Wealth Management, Ameriprise Financial Services. After building my husband's website, the need grew for others in the same situation. After building a few websites on the side for local small business owners, BlendWorks Digital Marketing was developed! My favorite part of my job is waking up every morning with the drive and desire to help grow my client's businesses into their dreams. Simply knowing that I possess the knowledge to bring business owners to the next level is enough to keep me going! My clients are an extension of my family. We often communicate, share the good and the bad, and grow together.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I love building relationships with business owners and adding value to their businesses where I can when they need it most! When a client comes to me and says, I have a business, it's doing ok, but I have a dream to grow it into something much larger; that's where I thrive. Putting together a marketing strategy, putting it into action, and watching the analytics come in... which results in increased revenue for my clients. Connecting with my clients, knowing their "WHY" behind what they do and where they want to go.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things I have faced being a business owner was opening my business during the height of COVID. My clients were struggling and didn't have a marketing budget but needed help and guidance on pivoting during day-to-day changing times and regulations that came with COVID. When so many businesses and restaurants were closing their doors due to the tough times of COVID, my client's doors remained open and kept their dreams alive.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Focus on the relationship, and revenue will follow - Going beyond a contract is the key to building a successful business and strong client rapport. As a company owner, I promise that leveraging your strengths to add value to someone else's business will shape you into an influential, wealthy, and successful leader in the business realm!
- Acknowledge that you can't excel in all aspects of your business, so hire areas for expert knowledge. One of the marks of a stand-out business leader is to bring out the best in others! It is foolish to think you can grow a business all on your own at some point; your business will need to capitalize on the strengths of others.
- Be a Master Communicator - Business building and Communication are one in the same you can not have one without the other. A business owner who doesn't communicate is like a quarterback who doesn't pass the ball!
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Being in Digital Marketing, I get to see the most intimate parts of people's businesses. Things like their actual traffic, sales, and where they struggle to grow. Trust is the key ingredient for success with my clients. It has always been important to me that my clients know who I am and what I care about. I've felt this way because this is the secret ingredient to a healthy client relationship!
In today's fast-paced digital market, and especially in the industry I work in, ordering help often comes with inauthenticity and insincerity. But if you order Blend Works as your entree, you'll be served with genuine interest, trust, and honesty on where your business needs to go. And that can only come with a trustworthy and professional relationship!
