What's your business, and who are your customers?

My business is Lioness Creation Designs, and my customers are newbie spiritualists on a spiritual journey or newbies looking to start their spiritual journey.

Tell us about yourself

This is a kind of a long story, but I'll tell you. I started the beginning process of my spiritual and healing journey at the end of 2020. This was when I knew I was in full depression, and I also knew I didn't want to stay there. I had started meditating but really had no idea why I was doing it. I started learning about Chakra gemstones and what they could do for you. I learned about rose quartz, amethyst, and black obsidian. I started making my first chakra bracelet and named it Royal Lioness. I put on my first handmade Chakra bracelet hoping that it would do for me what my prior first Chakra bracelet did for me. When I put on my first handmade bracelet, I felt the chakra energy of the bracelet.

I loved it so much that I started making bracelets for my kids first, then my family and my closest friends at that time. I wanted them to experience what I had just created and see how it would help them. From there, I was constantly learning about Chakra, Gemstones, & Crystals. I was still only thinking at the time, though, that my business was about jewelry. I have learned that my business is not just a "jewelry business" but a business that is dedicated to helping others on their journey.

What motivates me each day is myself. Let me explain... Lioness Creation Designs helped me overcome depression. I keep going because if I stop, I'm afraid my depression could come back. I also think about others who benefit from this business as well, and that helps me also because it's so much more than jewelry.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment is staying consistent in business and not giving up. There are so many business owners, but they don't stay consistent, some start a business, and then you never hear from them again.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing that comes with a business owner kind of ties in with my previous answer. Staying consistent when sales are low. It's so hard to do because you feel like no one wants what you have to offer but to promote and still be consistent in business at that time is the hardest thing to do.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Take a business course or get a business coach. Lavera Coleman is phenomenal.
  2. Research your business prior to opening your business.
  3. Know your audience.

These basically all could fit under tip one but are so important to your day-to-day as a business owner.
