Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Cody Yurk, Founder of Lindy Health, located in Boulder, CO, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are Lindy Health, a team of health professionals who want to help people reach their fitness goals. Our customers are people who have tried other diets and workout programs but have not been able to achieve their desired results. We build "Hollywood" style transformation teams that help hold people accountable and on track.

Tell us about yourself

I went from 278 pounds to 168 pounds in just nine months after undergoing numerous near-death operations and having a heart attack at 29. I formed an entire team that included a personal trainer, nutritionist, psychologist, physical therapist, and sports masseuse. This proved to be challenging, and there was no one place you could go to find an entire fitness team. Thus, Lindy Health was born.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Outside of helping our clients reach their health and fitness dreams, we have attained a rapid growth rate in a short time. Since launching on May 1st, 2022, we have already reached 10,000 organic monthly website visitors and are adding new clients at a steady pace! We have also gone from a team of one to a team of five while still growing every month.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The hardest part of building a "real" business is that it becomes quite like "work" that most entrepreneurs tend to avoid. I have emphasized creating standard operating procedures and building systems for everything from content to onboarding. I believe this will allow us to continue to scale infinitely and quickly.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My top 3 tips for anyone trying to start a business regardless of your industry are as follows:

  1. Build systems - These allow you to scale and create " plug-n-play " roles. You can hire quickly, add the employee to your system, and "boom" more capacity, more growth.
  2. Content is King - Having a content strategy is key to both standing out from your competitors and building an inflow of leads that will continue for years to come.
  3. To-Do Lists - I use to-do lists for everything. It is easy to get "shiny object syndrome" and feel like you are getting work done when those activities do not move the needle. Keep yourself accountable by checking focused tasks off your to-do list daily.
