Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and career development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Rachael Dyck, Founder of Limitless Location, located in Montreal, QC, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Limitless Location is a Digital Nomad coaching company that helps people build a successful remote career while traveling the world! Limitless Location provides 1:1 coaching to individuals looking to become digital nomads - with everything from remote resume writing, remote job application, lifestyle coaching, building a routine while traveling, and more.

The goal is to help people who want to become digital nomads achieve this goal and start their journey to location independence. Through my coaching services with Limitless Location, I believe that anyone can become a digital nomad with a bit of direction, a mindset shift, and some determination! Once you have this solid foundation, everything else falls into place.

I also recently launched an online course called Roadmap to Nomad! This course is designed for anyone who wants to become a digital nomad but isn't sure where to start. Whether you are hoping to travel as a digital nomad full-time or part-time, this course includes everything you need to get started, including 20+ downloadable templates and worksheets and over 4 hours of pre-recorded video lessons. Enrollment in Roadmap to Nomad will also give you access to a supportive community of like-minded individuals who are also working towards becoming digital nomads, as well as weekly group coaching calls! The goal of this course is to make the digital nomad lifestyle more accessible and demystify the "secrets" of how to travel while working and earning a remote income.

Tell us about yourself

Growing up, I always knew I had big dreams of traveling and exploring the world. I just didn’t know how I was going to do it. After years of trial and error, I finally feel like I have cracked the code of life with remote work and building a location-independent lifestyle.

I’ve gone from working a 9-5 office job to quitting and starting my freelance consulting business to negotiating a remote work role, all while building my passive income side hustles and traveling. I’ve done it all, and now I want to use what I have learned to help others achieve this too!

With so much information available online, it’s overwhelming to know where to start, so now I am motivated to share with my clients exactly how I did it and work with them to get there too. Remote work changed my life in so many ways, and now I help others experience the freedom of this lifestyle too.

Every day I get to wake up and choose where to be, who I want to surround myself with, and what I do in my spare time. I get to travel and see the world, meet new people, and experience new cultures, all while progressing my career and contributing to projects that I am passionate about. To me, that is what being a digital nomad is all about, and it’s why I created Limitless Location!

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Seeing the success of my clients every day! Watching someone start with a dream to become a digital nomad and wishing they could travel - to setting off on their journey is so rewarding! It really is a transformation, and this is what motivates me to continue building Limitless Location.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Being every department in the business! I mainly run Limitless Location alone, which means I am the marketing department, finance department, and business development! For me, deciding what to outsource is tough.
You can always be doing more, so it is important to focus on what will really bring the most value and what is crucial to its success.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Just start! The hardest part is making the first move.
  2. Delegate. You are the best and most knowledgeable in some aspects of your business. But it’s important to know your strengths and delegate the tasks that someone else can do better or that you don’t have time for. That way, you can focus on the big picture and what is important to grow the business.
  3. Know your niche. There are a million companies out there but only one like yours. The best thing you can do at the start is to pick a small enough niche where you are unique in the space but not too small so that you have a big enough pool of your ideal customer to target.
