What's your business, and who are your customers?
At Limitless Children, we create "Make-Believe That Builds Self-Belief. We believe the stories we tell ourselves not only shape who we become but WHAT we believe we are capable of. The majority of the foundational beliefs we hold as adults were formed before we reached the age of 7. Our whimsical, narrated, beautifully illustrated collections use "make believe" to help young children ages 0-7 form positive beliefs about themselves, so they don't have to heal from those painful limiting beliefs as adults. Think - "Dr. Suess meets positive mindset." Our target audience is parents of young children ages 0-7 - Mothers specifically.
Tell us about yourself
I am the CEO and Co-Founder of Limitless Children, and I also happen to be a mom of 4 young boys. I've spent the last 10 years working with adults to help them form positive mindsets and eliminate limiting beliefs holding them back from accomplishing their goals. It always made me wonder, how different would life have been if I could have spoken to these people when they were little children before the world made them feel like they weren't enough?
When we had our first son, it became a priority to help him learn how to harness the power of his mind, thoughts, and habits at a young age. But after extensive research, there were very few resources available. A handful of books was about all we could find. How can you teach these concepts so simply that even a young child can understand them? That's where our mission began. We used our own children to test and practice with and saw incredible results. It then became a burning passion to find a way to teach these concepts to as many young children as possible and to help support the parents with practical ways to reinforce these concepts in the "real world." Imagine how far they will go when they believe they have the power to make it so.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Being featured in many publications and asked to speak in numerous interviews to share messages to help as many people as possible find the clarity they were seeking was always a highlight for me, but without exception launching Limitless Children and creating a global team with an aligned mission has been by far the most rewarding accomplishment so far.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Finding the balance between family life and fulfilling my mission and passion. Striking a balance as a mother, wife, entrepreneur, and leader is tricky, to say the least. It has required me to be extremely efficient, organized, and laser-focused.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have clearly defined goals with a specific "why" it matters to you. It will become the fuel that propels you to places you didn't think you could go.
- Be as resourceful as possible, no matter what your budget is.
- When you are looking for new team members, keep in mind that they must all work cohesively together as a team. Try to find as many team members as you can that are not only highly skilled but align with your company's values and mission.
