Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health and fitness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Mingshi Chu, COO of LifeSpan Fitness, located in Salt Lake City, UT, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

LifeSpan Fitness is the original and best treadmill desk. We know the pains of a sedentary lifestyle, and just standing alone does not solve the problem. Moving while working is the best way to stay productive and live a healthier life, cutting down personal and company expenses!

We are focused on inspiring everyone to take the first step to upgrading their office to an active office. Once they start walking, our customers can't stop; it takes a few days to get used to it. But once the habit is formed, it truly changes your life. This is all the motivation we need to continue providing our products and services to everyone.

Tell us about yourself

My name is Mingshi Chu, I started working with LifeSpan 3 years ago, and I am hooked on trying to provide everyone the same experience that changed my physical/mental health. I have always been active, but I became more active once I started working at another company. Sitting for more than 8 hours a day, I could feel my body deteriorating. I tried standing, but it didn't help that much. I started walking while working; it helped tremendously. Using other cheaper brands I found on Amazon, they broke or wore out too quickly. I am 6'4 225lbs. So they did not last more than a couple of weeks. Doing some research, I found LifeSpan, loved the product and knew I needed to be involved.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I can't say I am the owner of LifeSpan but as the COO. We strive to bring LifeSpan back to its more well-known days as the first and original Under Desk Treadmill company. We are on the right track.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Of course, striving to keep the brand integrity while pushing to increase all standards.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

If you believe it, push for it and give it your all.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I hope whoever reads this already owns an active office; the initial investment is minuscule to the benefits and positivity you get from it.
