Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal and business development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Christine Vega-Perez, Owner of Life's Risk Management, located in Jacksonville, FL, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Life's Risk Management is a Life Coaching service, including a blog site, 'The Adulting Mastermind,' a group program, and 1:1 coaching. Life's Risk Management serves millennial women looking to feel calm, confident & competent to tackle ALL life throws their way!

Tell us about yourself

After working in the healthcare industry for over 15 years, I have learned a lot of tools and strategies to help mitigate the risk in medicine. I had a thought to take those tools and strategies to apply them to the riskiest industry of them all - our own personal lives. From this idea, I created Life's Risk management, the Blog site.

After receiving great feedback, I quickly realized I wanted to be able to connect with people on a more personal level so they can truly embrace the path that will help them reach their goals. I started offering one on one sessions to dig into more specifics and applying effective methods to help them reach their goals! I'm motivated daily by the amazing women I get to work with.

I want every woman to truly believe they deserve what they desire. Knowing that there are women out there who don't believe that is what pushes me to keep showing up every day. I am honored to have to opportunity to help empower & uplift women to the next level themselves.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Life's Risk Management was created in March 2021. Since then, I have published over 20 articles on the blog site, coached ten amazing women, appeared as a guest on three different podcast shows, had one featured article on the established financial services platform- 'Phroogal' and successfully launched my group program 'The Adulting Mastermind.'

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Self-doubt is a constant obstacle you have to overcome. I continue to work on my mindset and my own confidence as I push to keep going with my business, to then help do the same with other women. Being a business owner was never part of my plans.

Since I was a little girl, I knew my path was going to be to attend college, graduate and get a secure, stable job. That was decades of that plan being cemented into my brain. Now over just a few measly years, I've shaken that plan up. I threw a large but pretty wrench into all of that. Entrepreneurship.

It's not what I expected of myself. It scares me, it excites me, and the relentless bones of my body know- it's for me. So the self-doubt will never go away, but I know just how to mitigate that risk, DON'T GIVE UP.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. If you have an idea for a business, it's there for a reason. My tips are to first start talking about. Share your idea with others or journal about it. The more you discuss it, the more real and detailed it will become.
  2. The second step is to go ahead and take one small step towards making it real. Just one small step to get the momentum going.
  3. Third, celebrate that step. Get excited! Be proud of yourself. It may not seem big at first, but it is still one step closer, right? That excitement will enable you to keep going with these three steps all over again.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Don't try to do things alone. It's just harder. You don't have to. Even if the people you physically are around don't understand your goals & dreams, we have the benefit of a sea of virtual communities. Immerse yourself around people who will build you up and who are doing things you aspire to do.
