Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in coaching but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Melissa Giller, Founder of Life With Soul, located in Headingley, MB, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Life With Soul supports millennial women in managing the mental load, establishing solid self-care, and finding alignment in their life and/or work. Whether you are a SAHM or a working professional, I believe you deserve to feel joy, ease, and a sense of balance. My unique and proprietary coaching framework, Self Reclamation, has walked many women along the path of rediscovering themselves after major life transitions (think: career, babies, marriage, breakups, pandemic-ing, etc.).

Tell us about yourself

I'm known for my non-judgmental ability to hold space while lovingly challenging you to reach your highest potential. I've spent much of my life studying psychology, spirituality, personal development, relationships, and business. My primary focus is on creating breakthroughs: when a woman realizes the small ways in which she holds herself back from feeling good … my soul does a happy dance.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Tripling my revenue in my second year of business.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Knowing how to grow your business and reach new audiences. I could spend the entire day marketing in order to grow my business, but then that takes away from actually coaching clients, creating content and programs, sales, and other admin tasks.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't second guess yourself: you need to develop strong self-trust to be a business owner. You're not always going to get it right, but you need to trust yourself to make mistakes and know you can figure it out if it doesn't go to plan.
  2. Invest in a coach! Having a mentor who has been there and is also trained to see where you might be limiting yourself unconsciously is critical to your success.
  3. You don't NEED to use social media to grow your business. If you focus more on building personal relationships, your business will grow faster.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

Being vulnerable, following your intuition, and reaching out for help will be your greatest leadership capabilities. We cannot do life OR business alone and thrive when we have a community to support both our wins and our disappointments along the way.
