Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Krystal Maxwell, founder of Life Leveled Up, located in Cambridge, ON, Canada.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I'm a trauma-informed Mind & Energy business coach for influential coaches and mentors who want to make huge waves in the world. I run an online coaching and education business offering private and group coaching, self-development courses, guided journals, and a self-help podcast for entrepreneurs.

It's so common to come to a place in your business where you have the strategy and system that works and gets results, but you've hit a plateau in your success. You can feel stuck, overwhelmed, and like your efforts are no longer working. This can cause you to easily fall into patterns of overworking, people-pleasing, trying to do more to prove you're worth more, and raising rates beyond what you feel is the right value… But none of those things will actually solve the problem and break through the plateau.

The remedy is deep healing and growth by reprogramming the mind
removing the layers of conditioning to return to your authentic and natural state, and leveraging the power of your energy. All of this allows you to become your higher self who makes an unreasonable income to match the massive impact of your work that sets your soul on fire.

I'm so grateful to be able to teach women how to get out of overwhelming stress, create their dream life by design, and be well compensated for their great work.

Tell us about yourself

Twelve years ago, I landed my dream job in corporate and immediately burnt out from chronic stress and overwhelmed. I went on a journey of learning to heal the hustle, find balance in my work without sacrificing my impact and income, and live a life beyond my wildest dreams, which I'm honored to teach others how to do. My business started as reiki treatments, and I always felt like my business was intended to be so much more. I love that I can incorporate quantum healing and thought reprogramming into my work with my clients. I stay motivated to keep going because my purpose is so huge, and I just know that this is the work I was designed to do. I work with the greatest clients who get huge results, and I love witnessing their massive up levels. I also have two toddlers and love that I get to have flexibility in the work I love to do while not sacrificing time watching them learn and grow.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

It brings me so much joy when I experience my clients having massive up levels in the quality of their life, experiencing so much more freedom, flexibility, joy, and peace without compromising income and impact. I really enjoy being able to watch someone who's carried a limiting belief with them for decades be immediately healed from it and replace it with something so empowering and fulfilling.

I also am very proud of the support my business is able to offer in the mental health field. Mindset work is a beautiful proactive way to support total mental well-being. My Strong Minds Daily Journal for Kids is a guided journal workbook to help children learn to create a healthy foundation in their minds. We also prioritize donations to children's mental health networks and foundations.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I believe the hardest thing about being a business owner is choosing every day that your dreams are more important than your fears and showing up consistently in that energy.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Discover your soul's purpose and go deep on why you do the work you do. This deep connection to your work will make it so much easier to keep showing up when it gets hard.
  2. Have a practice to calm your nervous system and prioritize your personal well-being as a daily standard. This is absolutely essential for emotional resiliency, energy management, stamina, and creative thinking.
  3. Be open to any and all possibilities. There are a million ways to make a million dollars. You get to find the route that works best for you. Do not settle on following a strategy or process that doesn't feel good and light you up because you feel you have to do what other people have done to be successful.
