Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in personal development but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Keelin Clark, Owner of Liberty Empowerment, located in Laguna Niguel, CA, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Liberty Empowerment is a virtual coaching agency committed to creating a safe space for covert creatives to emerge & positively impact the world. We have helped hundreds of blocked leaders break through barriers, such as procrastination, self-limiting beliefs, habitual self-beat up, people-pleasing, and numbing out, so they can be their unapologetic, magical selves and empower their communities. We offer a variety of coaching experiences, including workshops, consulting sessions, sales solutions, in-person events, and one-on-one coaching.

Tell us about yourself

After 20 years of working with a variety of technology and marketing companies, I decided to liberate my creativity to empower others. I realized that I had a knack for coaching and loved supporting people in releasing their own creativity, such as painting, storytelling, cooking, etc. I love it when my clients give permission to themselves to FEED their artist and play. When they start to lead with their creative gifts, all kinds of magic happen! And I love seeing the surprising and abundant results they create.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As a fully woman-owned business and being able to hire and empower other women is a huge accomplishment for me. My mom, who passed away in 2018, was an influential entrepreneur as a top Tupperware Manager in Vermont when I was growing up, and it feels really great carrying on her legacy of entrepreneurial leadership and women's empowerment.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

There are so many hard things that come with being a business owner! For me, being highly ADHD, it's properly prioritizing - there are so many fun creative projects I want to start, but having a team and clients that depend on me, really keeps me in check.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Hire a team! You have no business trying to do everything! Hire people who are great at the things you are not. Stay in your lane, and your business will fly!
  2. Get clear on your vision. Why are you starting this crazy entrepreneurial ride? And where do you want it to go? The vision can change, but make sure you have a plan when you begin.
  3. HAVE FUN! Take Play Breaks! Feed Your Creativity! It's easy to get stuck in all the doing, but give yourself space to rest, play and be creative - it makes all the difference, not just for you but for your family, clients and employees too.
