What's your business, and who are your customers?

Lexington Consulting solves business process problems to make businesses and other organizations more effective, productive, and profitable. Customers range from high-tech and manufacturing companies to Government agencies.

Tell us about yourself

I founded Lexington Consulting in 1990 because I saw an opportunity to improve how companies and the Government do business. I am motivated by people who recognize a need to change their business processes but don't know how to do it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I think my biggest accomplishment as a business owner is keeping my company in the black and surviving for 32 years.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The most difficult thing for me is a never-ending need to hunt for new customers. It is a demanding task that never gets easier over time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Have a reliable source of revenue to cover you when business is slow and there will be slow times.
  2. Forget about a 40-hour week! That would be a vacation.
  3. Commit yourself to success no matter what gets in your way.
