Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Lesley Nase, CORE Communication Coach, TV Host, and Speaker, based in Jeffersonville, VT, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

CORE Communication: The irresistible power of communicating with clarity and conviction to create connections, expand influences and inspire collaborations in business and in life. CORE Communication system quickly turns connections into cash.

Tell us about yourself

My natural talent to communicate with animals led me to study Shamanic Healing, a natural fit for animal communication. Although I work with both people and pets, I discovered that people were having trouble communicating their desired outcome and avoiding confrontations and conflicts in life as well as business. This led to teaming up with Jane M Powers to create CORE Communication. Now, entrepreneurs hire me to get to the CORE of communication because most fail to speak the language of their listeners and are missing out on connections, relationships, and resolutions to maximize success. To be helping others is the joy I feel each day.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

As of right now, I would say having the courage to say YES to myself when new ideas are presented to me. That is how I ended up having my own TV show, "Books, Yarns & Tails: Written Wisdom, Inspired Stories and Animal and Nature that Share our Lives." You can catch it live on Fridays at 11 EST on Win Win Women TV, Apple TV, Amazon Fire, and Roku. I love teaching and interviewing.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Not having enough time to do it all! I believe that you learn all aspects of your business so that when you hire a VA or other help, you can clearly explain what you want and how you want it done. Going online has been a big learning curve. I still am learning, revising, and changing how I do business, even though the essence of my business is group coaching with 1-on-1 guidance.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Mindset- If you believe in yourself and your success, then you will be a success. If you don't believe in yourself and your success, then you wouldn't be successful. Really embrace who you are and what you have to offer.
  2. Daily success- Set yourself up to complete 3-6 tasks in a day. Before you get out of bed, envision completing the tasks set for the day. Imagine how it feels to have accomplished your task. Your brain doesn't know the difference between imagining a task is finished and physically doing the task. However, your body knows what it feels like to accomplish your goals, so celebrate daily.
  3. Failure is only one step closer to Success. OK, so it didn't go quite the way you envisioned or planned it would, but it doesn't mean you failed. What it means is that you reevaluate the direction you are headed and make changes. Step by step, you learn what success is for you and how it feels to be successful. Don't give up; you are closer than you think.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

An open mind can lead you to opportunities and daily miracles you never thought possible. We all have a default way of communicating and behavior when we become more conscious of unconscious learned habits, we can change how we approach life. Breaking down the barriers in your conversations will produce collaborations and conversions.
