Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Pamela Cummins, Founder of Learn Dream Interpretation, located in Jacksonville, NC, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I assist my clients in discovering who they are, letting go of what doesn't serve them, and accelerating their personal and spiritual growth. I'm a dream interpreter, spiritual growth intuitive, and psychic. I help my clients understand their dream's meanings, but more importantly, how to use the wisdom of their dreams for solutions to their obstacles, better relationships, and more…

Because I am psychic, I will use my angel's input for those who are open to it. I also teach individuals how to interpret their dreams. Some of my clients aren't interested in their dreams; instead, they come to me for my spiritual coaching and psychic information. I serve people around the world with my email services, whether that's a dream interpretation or psychic reading for guidance. Others choose coaching packages for more extensive work.

Lastly, I am the author of seven books on dream interpretation, personal/spiritual growth, relationships, and even my gray hair transition. I created oracle decks, too.

Tell us about yourself

I started my healing and personal growth journey in 1989, which led to learning how to analyze my dreams. Once I started understanding my dreams, I had precognitive dreams (dreams of the future). Then my psychic abilities returned to me. Because my life became better and better, I wanted to share this way of living with others.

This inspired me to learn different healing modalities, such as hypnosis, energy healing, and more. I'm also an ordained interfaith minister. I love what I do, my open-minded clients, and working from home dressed in comfy clothes.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Two things come to mind when I think of my biggest accomplishment. The first is changing people's lives for the better! My heart sings when I hear how I helped people through my services, books, or blogs. My second accomplishment is being an author. I always wanted to write a book, and now I have written seven, with more to come in the future. To me, writing is as important as breathing. I must breathe and write.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

The feast and famine part of doing business. I would love my business always to be busy, yet I need the slow times, too. I have learned that slow times are when I can regroup, find balance, or take a vacation. When it's slow, my doubts may come in. This is the time to let go, trust my Higher Source to bring what I need, journal, stay positive, go for a walk, spend time with a loved one, or hang out with my cats.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

My top three tips are as follows:

  1. Boundaries are so important in business. Friends, family, and even strangers will attempt to get freebies. Others will attempt to change your hours or how you do business. These people will also teach you what policies you need for your business.
  2. Beware of those who tell you that you have to do it this way by using their system or platforms. There's always a shiny, new method enticing people to flock to it for their business. Instead, find business methods that feel right and are enjoyable to you.
  3. Be willing to change and transform your business. As you grow, so will your business.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

My business has been an amazing journey, and I've met amazing clients and colleagues. I feel blessed to be doing what I love.
