Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey in health & wellness but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Leah Malone, Founder of Grace Recovery TX and Emerge Recovery TX, located in Austin, TX, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

Grace & Emerge Recovery are one-of-a-kind women's aftercare programs that cater to women along their journey to healing their suffering from substance abuse disorder and mental health disorders.

Often we feel treating addiction is like playing whack-a-mole. Whether it be mental health, substance use disorder, or dual diagnosis, the longevity of supported care is vital. We want to create space for organic and learned behavioral changes.

When we recognize and accept that there is something greater than ourselves. We begin to build the foundation stone to building back healthy relationships with ourselves and our loved ones. Connection, acceptance, and service will be essential.

Grace & Emerge Recovery TX programs treat women 17+ seeking treatment for substance abuse and mental health disorders.

Tell us about yourself

Drug and alcohol addiction recovery treatment work is my first career that doesn't feel like work. The work I get to do every day is very close to my heart. I love many who have recovered from this disease, many who are still not giving up, and I've gained some of the most badass angels due to the condition of addiction and mental health left untreated.

The most important lesson I've learned through the work I get to do is when I choose to take the actions required to live with a connection to God, I get to show up as my best version. My best performance can do a lot of good, stay connected.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is knowing there are women throughout the US that get to live a life filled with joy and belonging, health and confidence, and healthy relationships. Grace & Emerge Recovery is physically in a woman's life for a snippet in time out of their lifetime.

I am brought to my knees with joy knowing the women's work while enrolled in Grace & Emerge plays a lasting role in a new joyful life full of purpose and meaning in Recovery.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Losing women to this disease.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Don't chase shiny objects.
  2. Keep it simple.
  3. Always believe in the work you do.
