What's your business, and who are your customers?
The beauty industry specializes in lash extension services. I help women save effort and time every day to help them feel and look their best. They give you a boost of confidence and glamour from within as you go about your day. They add volume to your natural lashes and enhance your eyes and your look.
Tell us about yourself
I wanted to start my own business because I wanted to have a fulfilling career that is meaningful to my heart. Helping women to boost their confidence is the best reward I can possibly have. I love what I do because I can connect with other women and inspire them and empower them to create their best life, whatever that means to them.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Moved out of a small room I rented for five years to a bigger space during a pandemic and expanded my service to lash lift and brow lamination. I realized that women were more interested in self-care after the pandemic.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Time management. People say that owning a business and becoming your own boss means having flexibility in your work schedule, but I haven’t found that to be entirely true. I love being an entrepreneur, but there have been times when I burn candles on both ends.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Have the right mindset. That is my number one piece of advice. A positive mindset can help you to trust your gut and go for it even when the going gets tough.
- Consider your WHY. You need to have a clear purpose for starting your business to be successful. Your WHY should be much deeper than simply making money.
- Don’t get stuck in analysis paralysis; you’ll end up not making that move or decision. Take a small step each day and commit to it.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Whoever wants to start their own business just does it. Take that big leap of faith. Be fearless; everything is figure-out-able. Don’t wait until you are ready.
