What's your business, and who are your customers?
Lashes and Lashes specializes in eyelash extensions for high-end customers based in Centennial, CO. We believe in listening to our clients to give them exactly what they want while keeping their natural lashes healthy. Our clients are people who want to look fabulous and want to enjoy their newfound confidence.
Tell us about yourself
I decided to go to Esthetics school when I was 33. After graduating, I started at a salon doing a lot of facials and waxing. After a couple of months, I decided to start doing eyelash extensions. I still remember my first time. I remember HATING it, and I thought to myself, “after this model, I am never going to lash again.” After about an hour of putting lashes on her, I was addicted and couldn’t stop! From then on, I knew my passion was lashes! I have been doing lashes for 5 years now and enjoy it just as much as I did the first day. I opened up my own studio this year, and it was a dream I never knew I had!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
My biggest accomplishment as a business owner is being able to make women feel amazing about themselves. The confidence on their face when they see themselves is unbeatable! I enjoy lifting other women up and giving them the support they need to conquer the world!!
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
The hardest thing that comes with being a business owner for me is time management. Being a business owner means you don’t have a 9-5, you have a 24/7 career. I am always on my phone doing something for work, and I need to learn to set my devices down and hang out with my family.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Do not expect your friends to be your clients. Your clients will become your friends, though.
- Never give up!! I have had a lot of downs, and a lot of times, I wanted to just give up! If you put the effort in, network, and bust your butt, you will succeed!
- Rome was not built in a day! It takes years to become successful. Do not think that owning a business is easy or it will just make you easy money. You have to put the work in, and sometimes it takes years to even pay yourself!!!
