What's your business, and who are your customers?
I sell foreign language courses. My customers are all those who wish to become fluent in a foreign language. They're mostly people 55 and up.
Tell us about yourself
Languages have been my life and passion ever since I was 12 years old. I've always studied languages for fun my whole life. I used to tutor French privately. Languages courses are so poor. I thought I understood languages much better than I'd seen in books.
I know what it takes to become fluent in a foreign language, and all the courses out there are all the same, and no one will learn a fraction of what they need to know to become fluent.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Fulfilling the dream of so many people worldwide: allowing them to truly become fluent in a foreign language (French for English speakers) from the comfort of their homes.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Constantly adjusting to the ebbs and flows. Growing an organization is challenging. Developing your leads, setting up a team at the right time...
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do the things you're best at, and pay someone else to do the things you're not good at. Accept the fact that you'll have to invest in getting help. That's what will allow you to take off. Don't you know anything about marketing? Hire someone who does. Otherwise, nothing will come out of your business.
