What's your business, and who are your customers?
L'Angelique is a local and online plant-based well-being platform that promotes clean food and microbiome balance. We feature delicious natural supplements and superfoods that are gluten-free, dairy-free, and zero sugar added.
Tell us about yourself
I am a plant-based chef, traveler, and music lover. From being a project manager, working in music/food, and traveling the world, I would define myself as a curious, happy epicurean! Curiosity brought me to culinary school, then wine school, and catering both in Paris and New York.
I learned all the cooking techniques when I was a student at the gastronomy school in France, but I've learned so much during my multiple travels around the world about superfoods, sea moss algae, plants, spices, and their virtues, and I keep on learning every day. From Paris to New York, Los Angeles is now my home.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
It was to start a business during a pandemic and then co-open a second business two years later while trying to change the way society looks at holistic eating to break the stigma away from being a short-term fad diet.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
It's hard to balance personal/social life and work life. The challenge is learning quickly how to put boundaries and observe discipline when it comes to health and relaxation time. Work less and work smart.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Write down your vision: stay passionate.
- Do your due diligence: crunch the numbers.
- Build your dream team: it does take a village.
