What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am a Co-Founder of PSP Compass Solutions. We believe that if you take care of people, provide excellent service, profit will follow. We handle the details so you can focus on the big-picture. Tell us about yourself

I first got into marketing to help small businesses move past their initial start-up woes and to take their business to the next level. I have always found entrepreneurs to be fascinating people who are usually just trying to help out their communities and make a positive change in our world. It's been inspiring to work with such massively successful and inventive people. I'm continually motivated by the amazing people that I work with. The journey that my business partner, James LaJoie, and I started years ago has continually enriched my life.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Our biggest accomplishment has been to revolutionize the website building and marketing process. We have taken hundreds of companies to the next level by focusing on the customer journey and helping them to better help their clients. Our average return on investment for marketing is 7 to 1!

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

The hardest thing about being a business owner is everything. We are constantly working on bettering the company's culture, helping to improve the lives of our employees, getting better services to our clients, and managing a healthy, balanced lifestyle. I love every minute of it!

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

The first tip would be to love what you do. If you follow your heart, you'll always be able to adapt and keep the passion for your craft alive. The second tip would be to never stop learning. The greatest thing about owning your own business is the ability to learn continually. The third is to be relentless. I heard this quote in the military, which has served me well throughout my adult life. Calvin Coolidge - "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not, the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. The slogan, "Press On!" has solved and always will solve the problems of the human race."
