Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Desmond Kumi, Founder of KUMInc Commerce, located in Chandler, AZ, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

My E-Commerce site is solely targeted toward building authentic relationships with customers looking for nothing less than premium, top-tier, high-quality home necessities. All while providing a variety of product lines to meet their needs. KUMInc. prides itself and its products on being a catalyst for good, a catalyst spelled with a "K" to be more exact. But what does it mean to be a "katalyst"? Short and simple, the mission is to transform the lives of people looking to invest in themselves through home, beauty, personal care, and nutrition. Our products enable consumers to experience life to the fullest and then some. KUMInc. is for those who want to be more active, who want to stay focused, and those who seek cleanliness. It's for those who want to look and feel as good as they want to be. All products speak for themselves!! People who buy from KUMInc. instantly fall in love with the products within first use, every time! And KUMInc. shows the love back by continually expanding the product lines people already enjoy. Variety is the spice of life, after all. My philosophy is "loyalty-given, loyalty-received." So spend less time aimlessly walking up & down aisles, waiting in long lines, and spending your hard-earned money on mediocre store brands. Invest in products that will give you the most out of life! That's the "KUMInc. Katalyst" at work.

Tell us about yourself

Hi, my name is Desmond Kumi, zealous owner of KUMInc. My goal was always to pursue law. I wanted to utilize the law to help shape communities for a better future. But I was pondering that I received my degree in business law. I thought it would be practical to explore ways I could leverage my business. Entrepreneurship would give me the power to generate solutions on both a small scale and a bigger magnitude. Together, law and business would be my sword and shield to safeguard the communities I wanted to serve. While witnessing the pattern of big trends and high social interaction occurring on the internet, I decided that my marketplace would also reside there. I designated my products to compose home necessities for daily consumption for basic profitability. My business' target demographic is nothing short of everyone. Anyone can benefit from KUMInc.

Whether a person is looking for vitamins, snacks, makeup, or even toothpaste, KUMInc. got you covered. I'm motivated by the fact that I meet new people almost every day. And I get to hear their stories. And In return, they get to hear mine. They hear about KUMInc. And I get the chance to make their lives better by providing them with quality products. I'm always out to set new goals and see how well I perform. There's a great sense of adrenaline when I build that momentum for the next challenge. And I grow with other entrepreneurs that have their own visions for their future. I push them, and they push me. I get closer and closer to the day where I'll have a firm and well-built E-commerce business and a heart ready to help those who could gravely benefit from it.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The biggest achievement I've acknowledged for myself thus far is the combination of habit building & consistency. Before the business, I didn't have both. But realizing the prerequisites for succeeding, I had to move some things around. And yeah, integrating reading every day, sticking to a schedule, budgeting, etc., I've found that the results increment into a big wave of progress with every passing quarter over time.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

My line of work is simple. Of course, it's not easy. I just CAN'T QUIT, clear cut. The moment I give up is the moment I lose. That would mean that I would give up on the people who depend on me. That all the time I invested within myself is wasted. But most importantly, it would mean that I have given up on my dreams. And that's unacceptable.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

If I were to bestow some words of encouragement & direction to a greenie, someone who wishes to start their own endeavor, I'd say this:
Be okay with taking risks & learning from them. Learn what it means to be adaptable & always remember your WHY. Finally, surround yourself with people that can bring you up, not pull you down. People you can follow or learn from, people you might even be able to lead.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

I always love to connect with people and see where I can collaborate with them. I'm always trying to find more customers. And I'm open to mentoring anyone humble enough to learn.
