What's your business, and who are your customers?

We create luxury candles made with coconut soy wax and premium room sprays. Our customers are those who care about filling their homes with great fragrances that are toxic-free and match any home aesthetic.

Tell us about yourself

My husband and I started our business over three years ago when we were determined to make just a really great candle after being disappointed by what you get for the price of others. We both work stressful full-time jobs but being able to set aside a team to be creative is what motivates us. Scents have a powerful effect, and we are honored when people purchase our candles for their homes or gift them to a loved one. We have great support from customers and small businesses, and that alone is enough motivation to strive to keep growing and improving.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The biggest accomplishment is having our candles sold by other businesses throughout the country from our wholesale business. It is really amazing to see that growth!

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things is not to overwhelm customers with too many different candle options! We strive to offer universal scents for all different scent profiles. There are so many amazing fragrances we want to share with the world, but being mostly e-commerce, it is hard for customers to decide online when not in person.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Visualize and create your brand - stick with that vision and grow with it. Sticking with a vision will help you define your target market.
  2. Do not cut corners with quality.
  3. Get feedback and lots of it in the beginning! It is always good to allow others to test your product and get the word out.
