What's your business, and who are your customers?
I’m a hypnotherapist and creator of The Money Table protocol, and founder of Quantum Journeys Hypnosis Academy.
Tell us about yourself
My academic background is in Applied Psychology, but I didn’t want to go into traditional talk-based therapy as it hadn’t really helped me much over the years. (I now understand why talking about how bad you feel for an hour every week actually keeps your emotional focus on feeling bad rather than getting better!). I sought hypnosis for on-again-off-again issues with agoraphobia I’d been suffering from for many years, and within three sessions, I was finally on the other side of those issues. I’ve since used hypnosis to heal a lifelong bleeding disorder, remove blocks to success and abundance, slow down aging, and more gently move through the grieving process.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating and founding the Quantum Journeys Hypnosis Academy!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Self-discipline and consistency are the most challenging aspects of being a business owner for me. I was diagnosed with adult ADHD in 2012, and while it’s mostly a blessing and I wouldn’t want to be any other way, it does make self-discipline, routine, and consistency difficult- even though I absolutely thrive when I’ve got that elusive trifecta.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Make small daily steps in the direction of your larger goal every day.
- Don’t lose sight of that larger goal when- not if- some of those smaller steps prove more challenging than you expected.
- Be open to the natural evolution of your business, such that your path may change along the way and if you can embrace those changes.
