What's your business, and who are your customers?

We are a psychotherapy and coaching business. KlearMinds provides a team of highly experienced therapy and coaching consultants who hold a minimum of 7 years and up to 30 years of clinical experience. We offer a range of therapies, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT). We hold extensive experience in treating a range of issues, including anxiety, panic, depression, self-confidence, work/career issues, relationship issues, and trauma. I hold a BACP National Award (2007) for Clinical Excellence in the provision of counselling and therapy.

Our customers range from entrepreneurs to CEOs and professionals in the world of commerce, finance, media, and arts. We also help stay-at-home parents and higher education students.

Tell us about yourself

When I was younger, I was really struggling to find a career path that I felt happy in, and my self-confidence was very low. A friend suggested I do therapy. The experience changed my life and inspired me to become a therapist myself. I want people to get the best quality therapy possible, and I have won a national award for establishing excellence in the field of therapy service provision. The reviews and feedback we get from our clients, letting us know we have helped them overcome difficulties and feel so much better, inspires me to keep doing what I do.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The accomplishment I am most proud of is establishing KlearMinds as a therapy service with a team of highly expert therapists who really help clients overcome difficulties and live happier lives. The reviews our clients write are a wonderful testimony that KlearMinds is on track to providing the best therapy service possible.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

One of the greatest challenges is recruiting therapists who can provide high-quality therapy that really produces good results for our clients. We only take on about 10% of therapists who apply to work with us. So patience and holding our nerves that we can find therapists good enough to join our team and provide the best service is an ongoing challenge.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be determined. Never give up, and stay committed to what you want to achieve.
  2. Focus on your business mission and take small steps every day to achieve your goals.
  3. Compare and despair - whilst being aware of the competition is important, remember there is always plenty of room at the top. If you do a good job, you will succeed, focus on what you believe is important, and don't compare yourself negatively to the competition.
