What's your business, and who are your customers?
Klean Freak makes individually wrapped body wipes that are perfect for people who live life on the go! Tell us about yourself
I was backpacking in southern Utah and used a baby wipe to help get the sweat and dust off my face...bad move! It was left sticky and nasty the rest of the day, plus I was hauling the rest of the 30-pack of wipes (which dried out by the time I can back to my truck), and I didn't want to haul that weight. I couldn't find anything online or anywhere that would cure my desire for being Klean, so we made it!
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Creating a product that when consumers use, they LOVE. A product that helps people become confidently Klean wherever they are!
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
GRIT. Being able to tough it out and keep waking up and keep working at it and not giving up has been a trait that I've valued being able to learn. No matter what happens, we find a way, no matter how difficult.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Understand that it takes time. "Aggressive patience" is a term that I've learned to love. Keep grinding every day but know that it may not come overnight.
- Learn to love difficulty. Get comfortable being uncomfortable. You're going to have to do things you don't like or aren't necessarily good at. Get over it and go do it.
- Don't throw equity around ever. If you can keep it, do it. Don't just bring on money because it could be convenient. Only do that when there is zero choices on the table.
