What's your business, and who are your customers?
Glowmour Beauty Medispa offers a plethora of services to help put your self-care first. Relax with a massage, repair with microneedling, be hair free with laser hair removal or electrolysis, or shed some pounds with our medical weight loss program. Glowmour Beauty Medispa has something for everyone & specializes in treating all genders & ethnicities.
Tell us about yourself
I founded Privileged Faces in October of 2015. While getting my Esthetics License to do makeup professionally, I fell in love with skincare. The Facials Specialist schooling helped me learn to tackle my skin struggles after dealing with adult acne. I want to help everyone feel more comfortable in their skin and help women leave their makeup behind. I was born and raised in Midland City, AL, and relocated to Tampa in August 2013. After serving honorably in the United States Air Force, my passion for entrepreneurship and beauty led me into makeup. I completed various Veteran entrepreneurship courses after college, which helped grow my skincare and makeup business. Since 2016, I have seen and treated over 250 clients and completed over 350 services for skin-related issues such as acne and fine lines. Newly licensed in Laser Hair Removal & Electrologist in June 2021. In January of 2021, Privileged Faces Skincare was rebranded to Glowmour Beauty to be more inclusive of different services besides skincare.
In September of 2021, Glowmour Beauty Medispa was born along with the addition of a medical director, nurse practitioner, and more medical aesthetic services. Our goal is to be the #1 destination for permanent hair removal for people of color in Florida. After years of referring clients out for laser hair removal and electrolysis to only hear horror stories of their treatments or of services being too expensive. By expanding our services, we are able to help more clients and treat some of their most sensitive issues with providers/technicians that look like them.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Growing & nurturing the Glowmour team and brand to be what it is today. By pouring into them, only elevates the business. Securing funding for our laser was a very large hurdle as a non-physician-owned facility, but we prevailed and have been able to double our monthly income.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
Being the boss! Sometimes you might just want to be an employee, but you can't because the employees rely on you to be the boss.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
Do your research on your industry, make sure it's something that you love, & do it right the first time.

Find or invest in a mentor; they can save you a lot of headaches when building or growing your business.
