Tell us about yourself

I was diagnosed back in 2004, and I know firsthand the struggles people with diabetes encounter on a daily basis. I use an integrative approach to support my clients who are committed to making positive changes. In my signature group program, participants learn tools and strategies to improve their blood sugar control. They gain confidence and use coping strategies so they can make adjustments during the day to their meal plans and exercise routines.

I work with my clients to develop an individualized wellness plan. The steps in the Diabetic Road Map are a combination of the teachings and training I have received as well as some additional practices from my coaching training. I am a Canadian coach, and I conduct my practice online.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Working with my clients and witnessing their transformations. To see them develop increased confidence. Witnessing the goals they set for themselves being achieved. I chose the image of the Phoenix because it symbolizes transformation.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

For me, it is finding the time to fit everything into my day. There is always something to do, and you can’t always do it alone.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Conduct a lot of research to make sure your services are needed.
  2. Learn how to explain why your approach is unique.
  3. Make sure you have the marketing skills that will support your business.

Is there anything else you'd like to share?

My clients get the following results:

- Lower blood sugar readings
- Improved sleep
- Increased energy
- More resiliency
- Less frustration and overwhelm
- A sense of accomplishment because they see the progress which motivates them to make small changes over time
