What's your business, and who are your customers?
At Kim and Pom, our goal is simple - to make our customers and their loved ones feel special. We are an all-natural & vegan spa product company that focuses on soy candles and bath specialty products. We know life is busy, and we want our products to help deliver a little piece of calm to everyday life. Using natural and vegan ingredients, we deliver a spa-like experience to our customers. As we grow, we continue to focus on creating new, beautiful, high-quality infused products as well as continually find innovative ways to reduce our carbon footprint through sustainable packaging and production.
Tell us about yourself
I first started experimenting with soap recipes for my own use as an attempt to remove harmful chemicals in my life, and it soon became my passion for creating the best natural products that are beautiful & effective enough to be gifted to loved ones.
I'm still very excited to be able to do our part to ensure that our customers feel special. As a small & local business, connecting and sharing our beautiful products with customers really motivates me every day to work harder to create better products.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I'm proud that my business was able to create jobs for local women and donate our products & resources to local charities. As a newcomer who immigrated to Canada in 2014, it is my mission to bring positive changes to our local community.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
One of the hardest things that I face as a business owner remembers to take time to unplug and rest. It is very easy for me to keep working until I physically can't, and this leads to burnout every time. I'm slowly learning to change the way I work, but it's still one of the things that I need to improve.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
