Tell us about yourself

As a child, I have always had a passion for helping people, and I desired to work in the healthcare industry. My aspirations began as a Pediatrician and a Physical Therapist. I even volunteered at my local hospital. In high school, I was enrolled in an allied health profession class and was introduced to the field of Speech-Language Pathology. I had the opportunity to shadow a Speech-Language Pathologist working in a nursing home, and that was when I realized that I was destined to work as a Speech-Language Pathologist.

Over the past 12 years, I have had the opportunity to work with adults and children in various settings. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the use of technology increased, and I knew that speech-language services were limited. There were a lot of parents who had safety concerns for their families. I saw the opportunity to create a new avenue to make speech-language services accessible when traditional face-to-face speech therapy was not feasible.

In opening my telepractice business, l have made services more accessible to families across the states of North Carolina and Virginia. I'm motivated every day with the reassurance that I have created positive relationships with my clients and families and have noticed an increase in my clients' communication and social skills that have improved their quality of life.
