Interested in starting your own entrepreneurial journey but unsure what to expect? Then read up on our interview with Kerstin Tracy, founder of Ready2Heal, LLC, located in Reno, NV, USA.

What's your business, and who are your customers?

I offer CranioSacral Therapy as in-person bodywork or distance healing. CranioSacral Therapy addresses the nervous system and the body's ability to heal itself. I also incorporate Feng Shui principles to help people create an environment that supports their healing process. CranioSacral Therapy is a gentle and deeply relaxing treatment that uses light touch to release the soft tissue restrictions and imbalances of the body's craniosacral system. This system includes the membranes and fluids surrounding and protecting the brain and spinal cord. It is a non-invasive approach to help reduce stress, increase the circulation of fluids, optimize performance, and alleviate pain.

Feng Shui is an ancient Chinese practice based on the understanding that energy flows through everything around us. It creates a sense of harmony in our environment, which supports a more balanced and harmonious state of being. Using Feng Shui principles to arrange our homes or workspaces, we can create an atmosphere that can help improve physical and psychological health, improve relationships, increase success, boost creativity, and improve prosperity.

When I incorporate these two modalities in my practice, it helps clients experience deeper levels of relaxation and pain relief, not just at my office. They come home to a place that supports their healing. People come to see me because they feel stuck on personal or business issues, health issues from acute to chronic, or relationship issues.

Tell us about yourself

I started working for myself 25 years ago when given an opportunity to provide bodywork at a country club. From there, my business and number of clients grew on a steady basis. I am the first one in my family to work for myself successfully - all the while raising three kids with my husband.

What motivates me every day is the opportunity to reconnect my clients with the wisdom and guidance they have within and around themselves. That is so exciting.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Raising three children while growing my business and still allowing time to be there for them and, of course, my husband too. It did not come naturally. It was a learning curve. I am also proud of having reached the place of having to have a waitlist. There is a great sense of accomplishment and security in that. Hopefully, I can be a role model for my kids.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

Time management and self-care. Having to set boundaries. Owning a business is such an ongoing opportunity to grow and expand as a person.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be really, really good at what you do.
  2. Set great boundaries.
  3. Value and cherish each client you have.

Where can people find you and your business?
