What's your business, and who are your customers?
My businesses are Compleo Kids and Compleo Physical Therapy and Wellness. We serve families! We are a team of 13 professionals who serve infants-adult in all aspects of wellness, including milestone and motor education through in-person and virtual courses, lactation, pelvic floor therapy, mental health services, and orthopedic physical therapy.
Tell us about yourself
I saw a need for a space where the family unit could be cared for as a whole and where parents could receive educational information that was not scary or intimidating. I want clients to feel truly listened to, encouraged, and to be treated as individuals. I am motivated every day by my son and my experience postpartum to create a safe space for families to learn and develop.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I am proud of the fact that despite a pandemic, we have continued to grow our services to provide the highest quality care in all aspects of wellness. Our growth has included both in our clinic and the ability to reach families everywhere with our Little Movers Series.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Learning to manage the unexpected and trust that something beautiful will emerge from the chaos has been my biggest challenge. We are in a completely different place than when we started, but it is so much better than I could have ever dreamed.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Don't just dip your toes in the water; jump all the way in, or you will never reach your potential.
- Develop mentorships from people who have successfully run a business.
- No matter how big or small you are, always be open-minded to new partnerships and connections.
