What's your business, and who are your customers?

I wanted to create something that could positively affect the healthcare community. That’s why Patient Care Heroes was created. Its focus was to help with mental health resources and advocate for changing the culture of medicine. I was then lucky enough to be part of Beyond Physician. This company was created, in part, to help our physician community. It will allow doctors more freedom and help them progress in their careers in whatever direction they desire. We will essentially be helping them to grow their dreams in business, writing, education, or whatever they desire going forward.

Tell us about yourself

I’m an OBGYN and have spent my life trying to fix problems. I felt like there was a huge void in the medical community when it came to us taking care of each other; that’s why I wanted to pursue these initiatives.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

The relationships I’ve gained.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

You never completely disconnect since it’s something you’re passionate about.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Find out what you’re most passionate about. Make sure you do something that makes your heart smile.
  2. Listen to your intuition.
  3. Don’t be afraid to say no.
