Non-profit professional dance/theatre company. In residence at Firehouse Theatre, Richmond, VA. Audience members are the customers.

Tell us about yourself

K Dance has formed 20 years ago. K Dance focuses on the creative process of dance, both in educational programs and in developing concerts for the viewing public.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

Producing YES! Dance Festival, which invites international/national companies to perform in Richmond annually. Now in its 24th year. Hosting dancers from Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch".

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

Fundraising. Keeping up with technology and social media.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Know your subject/product.
  2. Work hard.
  3. Learn how to do everything.
