What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm a Psychic Artist. I create custom paintings depicting the past lives of pets. Buzzfeed says I'm the first artist in the world to paint pets' past lives.
Tell us about yourself
I love art! Both of my parents are traditional painters. At age 26, I discovered I had psychic abilities and could see visions from past lives. I started on my exciting journey creating psychic past life paintings and never looked back. I have three furbabies (2 cats and 1 dog). I enjoy creating vintage-style paintings. I love what I do, and I'm SO happy each time a customer tells me how much they love my artwork or shows me how pretty my painting looks in their home! I love using my talents in a meaningful way that makes people happy.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
Hearing from customers that they love my work and are happy with it. Going viral on Instagram. Getting endorsements from famous influencers.
What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?
Burn out! Overworking! Finding time for exercise and meditation. Plus, because I'm starting out on my own, I had to spend a lot of time at first learning the complex techy side of how to set up a website, how to sell online, how to create art prints and merch online, and so forth.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Always do your very best! Deliver the highest quality product possible. When you create something really awesome, people will pay attention.
- Don't be shy to network and put yourself out there.
- Don't overwork!
- Always be friendly, polite, and compassionate. Reply to customers quickly. Check all your social media accounts daily to never miss DMs from potential customers.
