What's your business, and who are your customers?
I'm a keynote speaker speaking for a wide variety of corporate and association customers across the United States.
Tell us about yourself
As an NFL All-Pro, I had opportunities to speak at various events. I found that the lessons of teamwork and success that I had learned in the NFL apply directly to business teams. The business pattern of prepare, perform, evaluate, and adjust that had served me so well in football was the same pattern I needed to succeed as a speaker. As my business grew, I found that working alongside meeting professionals to put on a memorable event is my passion.
What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?
I earned a Certified Speaking Professional (CDP) designation from the National Speakers Association and spoke at the Global Speakers Summit in South Africa.
What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?
I think the schedule is the hardest part for me. I'm responsible. If something needs to be done, regardless of the time of day, I need to do it.
What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?
- Get clear on what your business is and, maybe more importantly, what it isn't.
- Find a mentor or a coach with experience in your field.
- Join your industry's association and participate.
Is there anything else you'd like to share?
Success is overcoming obstacles on the way to your dreams. If you aren't running into obstacles, you aren't pushing hard enough. I salute you as you pursue your dream of starting a business.
