What's your business, and who are your customers?

I am an executive coach, team facilitator, and public speaker. I work with executives and their teams to enhance communication, trust, and culture. I'm also a co-author of The 15 Commitments of Conscious Leadership and The 80/80 Marriage.

Tell us about yourself

I have been motivated for over 20 years to unlock an understanding of what motivates and drives people. I am still inspired by every "aha" moment and the performance that becomes possible when leaders are at their best.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

I am proud of the incredible individuals and organizations I am honored to call clients.

What's one of the hardest things that come with being a business owner?

As a business owner, I am responsible for the ultimate success or failure of this company, and also passionate about the work. That makes it very hard to turn "off" for long stretches of time.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Be sure that you love the work itself, not just the idea of running a business.
  2. Work with awesome partners and clients. The people matter at least as much (if not more than!) as the product.
  3. Have the support of your life partner. When you start a business, it is rarely "left at the office."
