Tell us about yourself

My undergrad is Exercise Science, and I have my Masters in Business Administration. I played college basketball at North Central College and always enjoyed leading my team and coaching them in the weight room. I have done a little bit of everything, when it comes to the health and fitness industry. I started my career as a college strength and conditioning coach. I then moved into corporate personal and group training. I took everything I loved about the health and fitness industry and everything I did not like, to then motivate me to create my own unique business model. My WHY has changed and developed over the years, but it started with wanting to make the world a healthier and happier place while positively changing people's lives and helping them get the body they want. I am on a mission to touch as many lives as possible.

What's your biggest accomplishment as a business owner?

My biggest accomplishment as a business owner has been being able to positively influence and change lives within our community. It is a special feeling to be able to understand a client's WHY and create a relationship with them that leads them to get results, whether that be weight loss, gaining muscle, getting their body confidence back, or being a more functional human. I have been able to build an amazing team that treats our clients like their own family. It has led to us being able to get our clients the amazing results they deserve.

What's one of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner?

One of the hardest things that comes with being a business owner is taking full responsibility for everything and anything that happens within the business. I have had to learn to take complete responsibility for every client, every employee, and every decision. How you react and learn from any failure or decision will determine how you can positively move forward from the situation. I look at every failure as an opportunity to get better. I like to remove the word failure, and simply state it as an opportunity to get better from here.

What are the top tips you'd give to anyone looking to start, run and grow a business today?

  1. Define your mission, vision, and values, and let every decision you make moving forward work in line with those. They will help guide you in the right direction and will allow you to sleep at night.
  2. Don't risk the empire for the pot of gold. Learning to say no to the shiny new objects that will be thrown in front of you. Stay true to you and your mission.
  3. Learn to enjoy the infinite game. We are not playing a finite game here; we are playing an infinite one, and learning the rules of the game is key. Enjoy the process and the journey, and if you learn to do that, you will come out a winner.
